EIG is a big name in the field of web hosting which already ownes many leading web hosting companies like FatCow, BlueHost, iPage (the reasons their offers were almost similar) .
The Hostgator acquisition would be be the biggest aquisition of the EIG Network taking over the best web hosting company of the world with over 400,000 . In an recent Internal email, CEO of Hostgator Mr Brent Oxley confirmed the news and quoted that the company is acquired by Endurance International Group.Mr. Brent also confirms that the building of the Hostgator Web Hosting Company in Austin and Houston (Head Offices) will remain the property of him .

Mr Brent Oxeley indicates that the process of the acquisition may be completed in 3 to 4 weeks including the migration of the servers, setting up of the new infrastructure and migration of the websites.

Signals for Webmasters and Hostgator Customers
Hostgator Customers are likely to be hit with new schemes, policies and a little difference in services too. Seeing the previous map, EIG provides with excellent contact and help services to it’s a +1 that HG users will get.
The main problem this deal points out to is the data servers migration. As Mr Oxeley said “The property of Houston and Austin will remain in his name ” EIG would need to shift up the data centres and all the websites from one server to another. This process is little hefty and can loose to data loss .
If you’re a Hostgator User, it is strictly recommended for you to take daily backups of your blog to avoid any disappointment and data loss.
Let’s keep an eye on the news and it would be interesting to see the policies EIG comes up with for Hostgator Web Hosting.
