Interview of Successful Young Blogger Rojish Roy

Starting the venture “Interview Sundays” with a young blogger would be great . So, today we have a talented young blogger Rojish Roy of for an exclusive interview to Trick Earn Blog. Rojish is a  simple 21 year old guy who loves blogging and having infinite passion for technology and has been a successful blogger in blogging tips industry. Let’s get the inner Rojish Out…….

Hey Rojish Roy….Can you tell us something about yourself?

First off all, thanks to Karan for this interview. Talking about myself, I’ am Rojish Roy, a simple guy from beautiful state of Kerala in India. I am a graduate student in Electronics and Communication Engineering and will complete my course this year. After that I am planning to take blogging as my full time profession.

What made you enter the blogging business? How did your blogging career kicked off?

I started my first blog in 2006. That time I was having my vacations after 10th board exams and was looking for some pocket money. One day a local newspaper published an article about making money through blogging, naturally I got interested and created my first blog in Blogger. But I don’t know much about blogging and how to promote my blog, so after 2 months of “active” blogging I realized the horrible fact that I am the only reader of my blog. So I decide to stop blogging and that was the end of my first blog J
Years passed, I joined my college and was looking for something to do in my free time. Since I am technology enthusiastic I was looking for something related to that field. But this time I want to do it in professional way. Still I don’t have much idea what to write in my blog, so bought a personal domain and started blogging in August 2010. The first few months was really disappointing, no one was reading my blog. I tried to learn from my mistakes and made changes to my blog. By February 2011 the traffic started growing and I started making money from my blog.

Your blog Covers topics like SEO, Blogging Tips, WordPress and Social Media. What according to you is a step forward in these?

As of now I think articles related to blogging tips are popular. But recently I started writing about affiliate marketing and those posts also got good response. I am planning to write more about affiliate marketing in my future posts.

We observed that you have great mutual relationship with readers. What is the secret recipe behind building such great readership relationships?

I believe relationships with our readers and other bloggers in our niche is very important in growing our blog. Well, there is no secret recipe; the first thing I do is to reply to every reader comments. Whenever someone asks a help through email or facebook message I try to help them and most of them will turn in to regular visitors. Similarly relationship with other bloggers is also important and I think facebook is the best platform to connect with others. Everyone is welcome to be my friend in facebook.

What according to you are the strongest and the best method online to make money with the blog?

It depends on your traffic source. Understanding your audience is the most important thing. If your blog have a lot of regular visitors and if you maintain good relation with them then affiliate marketing will work best. If majority of your visitors are from search engines then Adsense will be a good option. We need to analyse our traffic, experiment with different things and stick to those options which works best.

Arrange in the form of what you mark as how much important. Content? SEO? Traffic? Readers?

In my opinion content is the most important thing, if our blog have good content we are having a rock solid base. If our content sucks, there is no point in promoting our blog because the traffic will not stay. Next important thing is readers, as I said earlier relationship with the readers is crucial. If content is the King, SEO is the Queen. Search engines are the biggest source of traffic and we can’t avoid that. The least I am bothered is about traffic, I am sure if we done the first three things correctly the traffic will naturally come.

At the age of 21, certainly the pressure of studies is much higher. How do you cope up with the blog and the studies?

Honestly speaking I am not that good in studies. Electronics was not the subject of much interest for me, but the situation forced me to choose that one (while I joined college it was recession time and everyone forced me to leave my favorite subject Computer Science and opt for electronics). Once I realized that blogging is my passion and it is my career I started spending more time for my blog and related services. Anyway I still manage to get pass in all subjects but marks are average .

What was the most challenging moment in your blog content development process and why?

For me the most challenging thing is to keep my blog updated. I am offering SEO and web designing services and together with the duties of my engineering course I get only very little time to concentrate on writing. So keeping my blog fresh was very challenging. Nowadays I am trying to be more productive. I hope that I will improve in this regard.

Everyone has a favorite post. Name yours and why?

Hmm…tough question. The post which I got most appreciation was 25 things to do after installing WordPress. That post was written with newbies in mind. I got many comments, emails and even some of them found my mobile number and called me personally thanking for the post.

Congratulations as your blog recently turned one year old. What have you learned up from the one year tenure and what are your future plans?

The most important thing I learned was that quality always matters. If we focus on quality surely we get success. Even if we don’t get immediate results, in the longer run it will bring us profit. Another thing I learned was that a big factor affecting the success of any online business is the trust. If we are able to win the trust of our readers and customers it will help our business in a great way.
About my future plans, as I said earlier once I finish my graduation this year I am planning to take blogging and internet marketing as my full time profession. Also I am in the process of creating a WordPress plugin development company – pluginE. Fortunately I got some good programmers in my team and we are working hard to release some new plugins which will help internet marketers and bloggers to make more profit from their blog. Also currently I am writing an Ebook which is a complete guide on blogging. Hope fully it will be released soon.

Behind a great BLOGGER, There is a great inspirational Personality. Who is the inspirational personality behind your success?

I am inspired by the success of great bloggers like Darren Rowse, Daniel Scocco, Zac Johnson and John Chow. Their blogs were very helpful and guided me in the beginning. Also life stories of great business personalities like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Richard Branson inspires me.

Thank you so much Rojish Roy for taking time out to answer the questions . We wish you good luck with your blog and future ventures with the wordpress plugins.
