Interview of Powerpuff Blogger Jane Sheeba

Two Weeks ago, I started with venture called “Interview Sundays” in which I promised to get fellow bloggers to stack a pile of their secrets revealing on my blog interviews. Although I didn’t post previous Sunday as I have thought to get an interview every two weeks.

So, Today I have Powerpuff Women Blogger Jane Sheeba to give an interview exclusive for Trick Earn Blog. So, lets get started with a pile of questions and wonderful answers by Jane Sheeba.

Q1.Most of our blog readers know about you Jane, but still for those who don’t recognise you yet. Please give us a little introduction about you.

–> Hi I am Jane, the founder and author of Problogging Success. I share the elements of problogging at my blog and help people to achieve blogging success the professional way. I also run a couple of other blogs, and is my personal blog.

I work as a Young Scientist, full time, in the field of Medical Physics. My research is mostly associated with modelling brain and other physiological systems in terms of complex mathematical/physical systems.

I am married to a wonderful person, who stands and supports me in everything I do. We have a 1+yr old smart son ๐Ÿ™‚

Q2.How you first got involved in with blogging?

—> When I went to the UK for my Ph. D (at the Physics Department, Lancaster University), I felt home sick. That was my first time away from home. In order to cope up with my loneliness and to put up with the hardships of my long distance relationship with my hubby (then my boyfriend), I started a coupled of blogs at blogger.

I shared just about anything and everything. I slowly realized the power of blogging as a business. When I finished my Ph. D and came back to India, I started to blog officially.

Q3.What has been the most challenging time of your blog? How did you overcome it?

—> Just after I started my blog, I didn’t know about the challenges that await me. There were so many challenges to be listed here. Some of the most toughest ones were getting traffic, being focused in a niche and branding myself.

Q4.Jane Sheeba is a famous face now in the field of blogging. How did you build your reputation?

Thanks for the compliment. Indeed the more I went out and interacted with other bloggers and my readers the easier it was/is for people to recognize me. Blog commenting and guest posting helped me to build my reputation so fast.

Q5.Whatย  according to you is the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?

Quality. Period. There’s nothing that is more precious to give to readers. When there’s quality, everything else will follow.

Q6.Did you ever experience writer’s block? If yes, how did you overcome it?

Oh yes, I have experienced writer’s block. And even now I experience it at times. When I feel blocked, I usually take a break from writing blog posts. I open my google reader and do some reading and commenting on other blogs. Reading not only relaxes me but also gives in a lot of ideas to write on, just enough to stop the block.

If I’m so burned out I usually take a break from my laptop (this happens very rarely).

Q7.Your Blog recently completed its year anniversary. What has been the best time for blogging for you?

The best time was when I actually realized how sweet it is to make money with such a flexible schedule (blogging). Moreover, I work at my will. I take up something, if I wish. If not I decline. I have no boss ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s the best part!

Q8.Jane Sheeba’s earning secrets are still not revealed. Can you give us a rough figure of your income?

Earning secrets haha. There aren’t any secrets actually. I just do what every online entrepreneur would do. OK since you asked, here’s a break down:

Over 50% of my income comes from freelance writing.
20% from affiliate marketing
10% from product sales (my own product)
20% from my thesis customization/blog maintenance services (mainly) but from other services too (consultation, blog audit etc.)

I’m in the upper level fourย  figure category and it fluctuates a bit every month.

Q9.You recently switched from a sweet to Professional . What forced you to take such a strong decision?

SEO mainly. I had no keywords in the domain name. I was running a multi-niche blog. Though it was very successful and accepted by people, I found it personally hard to tie up those three broad categories into one blog – I simply couldn’t focus.

I know that this will be a worthy change. I thought for a while, and asked my fellow blogging friends. Then I decided to move on. All relationships posts from Find All Answers will now be published on my new blog merryrelationships.com๐Ÿ™‚

Q10. Where do you see your blog in 6 months from now?

I actually see it fulfilling my goals. I have a couple of serious goals that I want to achieve by the end of the year. And in 6 months from now, I’m sure the blog will reflect on those changes ๐Ÿ™‚

Q11. We would like to have n number of suggestions from such powerful blogger. Please give your feedback on Trick Earn Blog.

Trick Earn Blog – I like its clean design and professional look (unlike many tech/blogging blogs that are cluttered). I’m sure you’re adopting a nice strategy to promote the blog, coz I can see it everywhere now ๐Ÿ™‚ All the best.
